Georgina was born and brought up in Kenya. She has experience in all genres of photography specialising in documentary and humanitarian photography. Through her work Georgina has met and photographed Nelson Mandela, worked many times with South African singer and legend Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Japanese football star Hidetoshi Nakata, and with many projects in slums, with refugees, in public health and aid. Her coverage of Kenya’s 2007 elections and post-election violence shortlisted her for the Prix Bayeux War Correspondence Award in 2008. She was recently awarded Kenyan News Photographer of the Year 2013.
Georgina is a member of the international photographers collection Metaphor Images (www2.metaphorimages.com) working as a freelance photographer based in Nairobi and part-time as a stringer for Agence France-Presse (AFP) covering major news and editorial events. Georgina also teaches photography in workshops, private individuals and large companies, and has an extensive archive of commissioned and personal images represented by Africa Scrapbooks stock agency and in galleries in London and Nairobi.
